How to: Make Your Brown Rice Taste Perfect
For the past few days, I have been looking all over the web and YouTube for easy tips on making the perfect brown rice. I always make white rice a few times a week because I cannot stand the taste of brown rice! I’ve tried different ways to improve the taste by adding various seasonings and vegetables however, the grainy sensation made the rice taste worse. This was because the rice either came out too sticky, too dry, or too crunchy. It is rare that I have that problem when I make white rice since I had been making these two for most of my life.
After many failed attempts, I saw this attached video that made me more confident and wanting to give this whole brown rice thing a try again! The reason why I found this recipe interesting, is because the lid covered rice as it was boiling and this was something that I never did before with brown rice. This is an important step when making brown rice if you want it to cook to perfection. I usually do not cover the lid when making my white or brown rice because I used Minute Rice.
So if you are like me and trying to find a way to making the perfect brown rice, please check out this quick recipe in hopes that it will be just what you have been looking for! I tried it and can honestly say; I love it now!
- 1 1/2 cups of dried brown rice
- 3 cups of water
*Be sure to cook the rice for 20 minutes covered*
**My personal preference would be to add a little bit of butter and a pinch of salt.**
